Acrobat SDK not designed for eBook distribution. Use PDFMerchant or Adobe Content Server.
Issue
I would like to develop an application that would convert my src to pdf format and modify the security settings, such as disabling the printing
feature or hiding parts of the text in the trial version, using Interapplication Communication and/or the Acrobat SDK.
Solution
Adobe Acrobat SDK is not designed to distribute and publish eBooks. Adobe's PDF Merchant and the Adobe Content Server are specifically
aimed at the eBook market and can provide the functionality you require.
Adobe® PDF Merchant™ server-based software enables eBook and content providers to sell and distribute documents electronically with complete
security. Please refer to this webpage for PDFMerchant information and related links:

The Adobe Content Server is a Web-based system that automates the e-book supply chain for publishers, distributors, and booksellers. To ensure
seamless and secure marketing of e-books. Please refer to this webpage for Content Server information and related links:

The process of creating an eBook service is very involved. First, turning a book in to a PDF file is what the full Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) does.
Please refer to this webpage for the comparison of the Acrobat products:

Once you have a PDF file, you can use the Acrobat "standard" security handler to prevent ALL users from doing things, such as printing. However, the
"standard" security handler does not support the idea of a hiding portions of the text or a trial version.
