How To: HTTP code 404 Fault location: 15

Issue
A customer receives an error whenever they try to open the downloaded ebx.etd-files and automatic activation is supposed to take place.
Your Adobe software could not be activated.
Adobe DRM Activator error (Client code 31)
    HTTP code 404
    Fault location:  15
Solution
- Fault location 15 is the beginning of the Easy activation process, so the first request is not getting through.
- Since their browser can get through to retrieve an ETD file from ebookfulfill.adobe.com, his browser will likely be able to hit aractivate.adobe.com.
- The most likely issue is that a firewall or proxy server is configured so that it doesn't allow Reader to send HTTP requests.

If someone cannot download the test book from the Adobe site, then there is very likely a proxy problem or a firewall problem on their system. If the firewall or proxy has a log, it may contain some useful information about blocked packets.

1. Does he have a hardware firewall installed?
- What brand and model?
- Is there anything in the log about blocked packets at the time of the attempted download?
- Make sure the firewall is using port 80 and NO CACHE is on
- Make sure that the firewall allows his browser to connect to http://aractivate.adobe.com
(They should copy this URL into his browser to check.)
- Make sure that the firewall allows Acrobat to connect to http://aractivate.adobe.com

2. This could also be a proxy issue. It's often difficult to distinguish between firewall and proxy issues.
